by Sara Holloway then Justin Gannon
Early in the first quarter Reedsport made a touchdown. Myrtle Point caught up with the Braves by the end of the first quarter.  Tom Dailey ran the Braves for a touchdown late in the second quarter. With the addition of those touchdowns and one 2pt. conversion Reedsport was ahead 14-6 at half time.
With less than eight minutes to play in the 3rd quarter Reedsport lost possession of the football.
Myrtle Point managed to tie with the Braves by the end of the 3rd quarter  even though #35, Tom Dailey, sacked the quarterback just moments before they made their touchdown.
With only a few minutes left to play the Bobcats scored again with a touchdown although their field goal attempt was not good the Myrtle Point Bobcats defeated the Reedsport Braves with a score of 14-20.

The JV Football team suffered a crushing defeat from the Myrtle Point Bobcats last Thursday.
They scored only one touchdown by Patrick Harris in the 3rd quarter off of an interception near the 12 yard line.
The offense got within 5 yards of the goal line 3 times but couldn't punch in when they needed to.
The final score was Braves 6 Myrtle Point 21.

Reedsport Slams All the Teams Around
by Heather Leach
On September 14 the Reedsport varsity volleyball team took over Pacific's gym and town.  Winning in 3 games they sent the Pirates on a whirl.

Winning in 3 games the Reedsport Braves varsity volleyball team sent the Bandon Tigers packing.  With scores like 26-24, 25-18, and 25-21 the old saying This is our house! holds true.
Outside hitter Krista Wooley gives us her view on their outstanding game.  "We played like a team.  Even when we were close, no one folded.  Unity is the key word."  And she was right.

Braves Run The Prefontane in Marshfield on Saturday
by Kati Dickson

The Reedsport Cross country team participated in the Steve  Prefontane Memorial run on Saturday, September 20. The Pre is an open race  6s6 stretching.  2ile race. 989 runners, joggers, and walkers entered the race out of respect for our late hometown hero Steve Prefontane.
The race began in downtown Coos Bay, then went down past K-Mart. Soon after K-Mart you turn around and run back to Marshfield High School, and do one final lap around the track before running through the finish line. The 10k run is well known for it's many long hills and few flat streches.
"The team ran well, it was a hard race and they finished strong.  "Says Reedsports coach Ron Frakes.
Due to the large number of participants times and places were not available.
