Iranians Across the Globe Celebrate Former Supreme Leader’s Death

Iranians continue to celebrate in the streets of major cities across the globe following the death of their former dictator, Seyed Ali Hosseini Khamenei. In the celebration rallies, participants can be seen displaying the Lion and Sun flag of the Iranian people, dancing in the streets, and expressing happiness, relief, and gratitude towards the US and Israel for liberating them from the oppression they have endured in the past decades.

In Tehran, thousands of cars created traffic jams while honking in celebration. Residents shouted for joy from windows and rooftops. Farzad, a Tehran resident, claimed the sound of whistling and honking motorcycles and cars quickly filled the air. “It just erupted all at once,” he said.

Many of the celebrators at demonstrations in Los Angeles and Berlin can be seen dancing, listening to music, and conveying appreciation towards Donald Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu for executing Khamenei.

Demonstrations of celebration have been exhibited in Tehran, Los Angeles, Washington, D.C., Vienna, Berlin, Madrid, London, and various other major cities worldwide.

From a historical viewpoint, Seyed Ali Hosseini Khamenei was an Islamist authoritarian dictator who oppressed the people of Iran for 36 years. He forced women to practice Sharia law, executed tens of thousands of Iranians who protested against his rule, and committed atrocities under the mask of purification. Certainly, his death has caused many emotions to surface in the Iranian community.
