RHS 2022 Homecoming Weekend Recap

A night of dancing and a day of football, what’s better than RHS Homecoming? Our school festivities began on the night of October 7, 2022, when students joined together for a night of dazzling attire and dancing. Like last year, our homecoming dance attendance was through the roof, with around 500 students in attendance again! Over $2400 was made from ticket sales for the 2022 Student Council Charity Imagine, A Center for Coping with Loss. This charity works with children, young adults, and families struggling with death or life-altering illnesses of a parent, sibling or child. Imagine supports and offers services for those in need all year round.

The highlight of the homecoming dance is the announcement of the homecoming court. This year, the homecoming court was elected differently than in years past. Rather than a required girl and boy winner for each grade, students could nominate whoever they wanted and the court would no longer stick to a girl and boy winner in order to be more inclusive to gender non-conforming students. Our 2022 winners are:

Freshman – Lina Pal & Braedon Mcquade
Sophomore – Louis Morella & Talia DeGennaro
Junior – Kari Augusterfer & Danny Fencik
Senior – Lucia Andler & Dan Geltrude

The next day on October 8, 2022, RHS held its annual parade where students and staff marched from the high school to our home turf, Tryon Field to begin the main event of the weekend… the football game! The Bulldogs faced the North Arlington Vikings. With help from their newly-awarded NY Giants “Coach of the Week” Steve Dunn, the Bulldogs defeated the Vikings 42-13 in a stellar game! With this win the Bulldogs advance with a record of 6-0!
