RHS comes together for Homecoming Weekend

The festivities began on Friday, October 8, 2021, when Rutherford High School held its annual Homecoming Dance. This particular homecoming dance boasted a record of over 500 students in attendance. There was plenty of dancing and picture-taking, but the highlight of the night was the announcement of the homecoming court.

The Rutherford Bulldogs defeated Pompton Lakes, by a score of 28-7, improving to 5-1 on the season and remaining undefeated in the NJIC conference. Patrick Cerulli led the way with a stellar performance of 3 touchdowns and 270 rushing yards. Van Weber tacked in one rushing touchdown, ran for 37 yards, and threw for 100. Cole Goumas chipped in as well, tallying 37 rushing yards as well. An interception by Anthony Bonagura, coupled with JJ Herninko’s 8 tackles allowed the Bulldogs to have a stifling defense.
