Harry Styles Makes History at Madison Square Garden

On August 20, 2022, Harry Styles started his 15-night run at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Not only did his “Love on Tour” residency break a record for the number of consecutive nights, but he also sold out every show. This amounts to about 103,945 tickets total for the New York leg alone.

Ex-One Direction member Harry Styles started his world tour, “Love on Tour” on September 4, 2021. His career skyrocketed after the release of his sophomore album, “Fine Line”, and has been even more successful upon the release of his third album, “Harry’s House”.

Harry’s banner is hung in the rafters at MSG, joining the spot of only two other artists, Billy Joel and Phish. Jim Dolan, executive chairman and CEO of MSG Entertainment, says that selling out fifteen consecutive nights at Madison Square Garden is not a small achievement and that it establishes Harry Styles to be one of the most influential artists of this generation.

Harry’s fans are truly unlike any other. They dress in extravagant outfits, wear boas, and bring creative posters for his shows. Harry often commends his fans and openly expresses his appreciation for them. RHS student Hannah Kane, who attended night 9 at MSG, said “Seeing him live just doesn’t compare to any other artist. Hearing my favorite songs and the lights and seeing him perform felt unreal.”

Harry’s success continues to thrive as he travels throughout the country for the remainder of his tour which is set to end on July 22, 2023. He will also be traveling to Europe and Asia in 2023. Fans believe that while Harry has set an astounding record and reached these amazing achievements, this is just the beginning, as he isn’t even thirty years old. Harry Styles continues to prove himself as “the most influential artist of this generation”.
