Teacher Spotlight: Ms. Leary

On her dream vacation, Miss Leary would be traveling through Italy and Greece on a Mediterranean cruise, historical fiction novel in hand. If you couldn’t tell, Miss Leary is a world history teacher. She has been a part of the history department for four years and is an advisor for the class of 2020. If she was not a teacher, Miss Leary would love to work in the fashion industry in PR or as a buyer.

In her free time, she enjoys watching Friends, taking care of her bunnies, asking her Alexa to tell her jokes, and neglecting to grade tests (…kidding). Although Miss Leary has read the Harry Potter series far too many times and plans one day to whittle her own custom wand, her favorite book is To Kill a Mockingbird.

To quote from Harper Lee’s classic, “People in their right minds never take pride in their talents.” Although Miss Leary approaches her work with humility and humor, it never curbs the obvious commitment and passion driving her actions. She puts her students first and provides them with the guidance and support that help them to achieve their successes. Miss Leary does not limit her lessons to a series of standards or contrived objectives, offering ample opportunities for her students to learn both inside and outside of the classroom.
